Airbnb elopements have become super trendy in the wedding & elopement industry – and for good reason! If you’ve been looking for an intimate way to get married, either in private or with just a few close friends & family members, you should absolutely consider having an Airbnb elopement, and this guide is going to tell you why. I’ve also compiled a list of 18 of the best cabins across Washington, Oregon, Northwest Montana, & Northern Idaho that would be awesome for a PNW Airbnb elopement so you can see some of your options. Let’s dive in!

Disclaimer: Not all Airbnbs allow wedding ceremonies, or large parties/gatherings. Please be sure to reach out to the host of the Airbnb you're looking at, BEFORE you book, and ask if they would be okay with you having your elopement ceremony and/or evening celebration on their property! If you want to have a larger gathering with a few friends to celebrate, be sure to book an Airbnb that has space for all of you and that you don't go over the max group size allowed.

What is an Airbnb Elopement?

For this guide, I’m going to define an Airbnb elopement as an elopement that either fully or partially takes place in an Airbnb, rather than at a traditional venue. Your Airbnb elopement might include your ceremony being held at your Airbnb, if that Airbnb allows it, or you might just host an intimate evening dinner party at your Airbnb to celebrate!

There’s no strict definition or limitations to what your dream day could look like, you just need to keep in mind that not every Airbnb host allows events to happen at their home. So if you’re wanting to have your ceremony at an Airbnb, it’s important to check with the host before booking to see if that’s allowed – and if not, you could just have an intimate evening gathering there instead, after having your ceremony elsewhere.

Why Have An Airbnb Elopement?

Before I show you all the epic cabins that the PNW has to offer, let’s talk about WHY you should consider eloping at an Airbnb instead of at a traditional wedding venue!

Here are some of the main reasons why you should have an Airbnb elopement:

  • You get to celebrate in an intimate setting: there’s nothing more cozy & intimate than gathering with your closest loved ones in a home-y setting. Being in a well-decorated, beautifully-designed home creates a totally different atmosphere than a wide-open, empty venue space would – without you having to worry about decorating!
  • You & your guests can all stay together: if you get a big enough Airbnb, you and your guests can all stay in one place together – which means you get to spend wayyyy more quality time with them. Just imagine you & your guests hanging out around a campfire at night, or relaxing in a massive hot tub under the stars, without having to worry about driving back to their hotels at the end of the night. It’s the perfect opportunity for a day-after brunch that you all cook together!
  • You can find a place out in nature: it’s typically hard to find a wedding venue out in the middle of nowhere, or super close to a national park – but there are sooo many Airbnbs in the woods, in the mountains, right on the beach. . .you can easily find a place to stay that makes your outdoor-loving, adventurous heart happy! Picture you and your partner waking up on the day of your elopement and drinking your coffee on a big porch overlooking a lush forest or a beach – a dream come true.
  • You have a space to celebrate for longer: traditional wedding venues typically limit how long you can use the venue, and have a specific time you have to leave by. If you book your own Airbnb, you can celebrate as late into the night as you want to without having to worry about cleaning up before you leave and finding another place to move the party to.
  • You can bring your dogs along: if you have dogs, and if you book a dog-friendly Airbnb, no need to leave your pups at home – they can come along and hang out with you the whole time at your Airbnb!
